#615 Exposing OIC APIs via API Platform Cloud Service

Integration is very simple ala ICS.

In OIC, I simply configure the API Platform CS entry -



















Now I activate and publish the integration.

The API of the integration will be published to API Platform CS.


































As you can see, I have selected just API Creation.
I have not included Publishing to the APIP CS Developer Portal.
I have also not included API deployment to a Gateway.














I login to the API Platform Mgt console and search for the API -















I now delete the API definition and return to OIC.

Let's publish again, but this time include deployment to a gateway
and publishing of the API to the Developer Portal.

























On clicking Deploy API - the list of Gateways currently registered with the
APIP CS Mgt. Console are retrieved.

I check again in the APIP CS Mgt. Console, as soon as the integration has been
activated -
















Here I see the portal (Developer) url and the Gateway endpoint.


So simple, so effective!

#614 Oracle ICS/OIC Prebuilt integrations

Pre-Built Integration Flows are developed based on best practices and standards based mapping. For example, you have subscribed to Oracle Sales Cloud and Oracle Service Cloud. Through Sales Cloud you sell to customers, thru Service Cloud you service the products you have sold to those customers. You will need to have a synchronisation of customers (sales account in Sales Cloud - organization in Service Cloud), contacts etc. between the two.

This is where the pre-builts come into play - these are integration flows you can install in your OIC environment. They contain connection definitions and the mappings, all you need to do is amend the connection definitions to point to your apps e.g. your Sales and Service Cloud instances.

So OIC/ICS is a pre-requisite, we do after all, need a runtime in which to execute the flows.

So where do I find these pre-builts?
They are listed on the Oracle Marketplace. I covered the basics in a previous post, but here is more detail.

Many of these pre-builts come from Oracle, others from partners -
I go to the Marketplace - I search under the Applications tab for Integration Cloud.

#613 Adding WAIT functionality to an ICS/OIC orchestration

This is a question that I get often enough. How can I add a WAIT activity to my Orchestration.

Here is a Javascript based example from a colleague of mine - I will call it from an OIC
Orchestration.

Here is the flow -


















This is simply a REST trigger invoking a REST Service, running on Apiary -























Now, I want to add a short wait before calling the Apiary service.

Currently in OIC, we do not have a WAIT Action -

I save this as a .js file and upload to OIC -
















Now back to the Orchestration -






























I test this with 10000 msec








































I activate and test -












Now to setting for 60 seconds -














I test and get the follow error -





I go to the Monitoring console -




















So, a possible solution, but only for short WAITs.
